Sueding is the practice of lining the joint-sockets of the doll with thin leather to increase the grip and friction between the parts. This allows for greater stability and balance, which helps the doll hold poses as you set them.
We use transparent contact adhesive and thin leather in a colour to suit the skintone of your doll. The edges of the leather may be visible in the joints, but is minimally obtrusive. Due to the curing of the glue, sueding adds 1-2 days to the finishing time of your doll, and we recommend that you also add seam-sanding to your order at the same time, as this generally needs to be performed first, and will give your doll a perfectly smooth surface.
Investigation into vegan-friendly sueding materials is underway.
